Oregon Taxidermy Workshop

By working alongside a seasoned taxidermist, our workshop is designed for those whose goal is to be able to accomplish taxidermy in their own home or operate as their own taxidermy business.

Hours are at the owners' discretion and usually run 8a.m. to 4p.m. Monday through Friday, sometimes longer. We're happy to accommodate scheduling requests whenever possible.

We have two workshops to choose from:

The Business Workshop

This 5-week program is designed for those interested in gaining the confidence and know-how to begin and operate your own top-notch taxidermy business.

Package price consists of materials and shop rental. Included are basic hand tools, materials, animals and everything you will need to accomplish your own mounts - all you need to bring is a camera, gloves and notepad. 

  In addition to practicing the valuable skills of tanning your own capes, you will have the opportunity to work on any or all of the following topics of your choice as time allows:

  •  gameheads
  •  lifesize animals  
  •  birds 
  •  reproduction fish
  •  rugs
  •  antler plaque mounts  / european mount
  •   skulls
  •  soft tanning / leather making
  •  bases, habitat and diorama
  •  business essentials ie. record keeping, ethics, finances, advertising etc.
  •  antler reproduction / coloring

You will keep all of the work you do.

The cost is $6,200. 

A $1,000 deposit is required to sign up, the remaining $4,900 is due at the beginning of the workshop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Hobby Workshop

This 3-week program is designed for those interested in gaining the confidence and know-how to perform quality taxidermy from their own home / shop as a hobby.

This program is the same as the business workshop listed above, except this one is 3 weeks instead of 5

The cost is $3,900. 

A $1,000 deposit is required to sign up, the remaining $2,900 is due at the beginning of the workshop.
